We are celebrating the life of our loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Georgia Fay Painter Ivie.

November 12, 1938 – August 22, 2026

Today we not only mourn the loss of Georgia F. Ivie, but also celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and many meaningful moments.

Georgia lived with a generous spirit and a caring heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Whether through her kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, or tenacity for life, she had a unique gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Born in Waubay, South Dakota, Georgia spent her life embracing what mattered most—her family, friendships, faith, service, teaching, adventure, creativity, and dedication to her art. In the early days, she enjoyed bowling and golf with Bob at her side.

Through her art she created countless cherished memories and inspired others simply by being herself. Georgia was a talented artist who shared her love of painting, pottery, and arts of all kinds by teaching and in services to others. In place of tears, let us remember the joy she brought to our lives. In place of goodbye, let us say thank you—for the love, the memories, and a life beautifully lived. She really had great adventures in life and loved all of them. Our memories will forever live in our hearts. This announcement serves as the heartfelt emotion and gratitude our family feels for all that have loved Georgia over the years and showed her kindness and love. There will be no services; in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Gibson Cancer Center in Lumberton, NC, or The House Institute, in Los Angeles, CA. She will be buried with her love, Robert Ivie, in South Dakota in the family burial plot.
