Mr. Bobby Dean Locklear, born April 8, 1948 to the late Asa and Susie Locklear passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 13, 2026.

Bobby was a hardworking man whose life was marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. He had a deep love for farming and construction, spending many years working with his hands and taking pride in every task he undertook. Above all, Bobby loved Jesus and lived his life guided by his Christian faith, which served as a source of strength and comfort throughout his years. His legacy lives on through the family and friends whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Summer Chavis and Storm Butler; step-grandchild, James Austin; four brothers, Howard, Joe, Charles, and Bruce; and one sister, Thelma.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Velia Ann Locklear; his son, Paul Anthony Locklear and wife, Kim; his daughters, Karen Danene Chavis and husband, Chad, Sherry Ann Locklear and fiancé, Randy, and Lora Ann Butler and husband, Jr.; a special great grand, “Little Buddy” Braydon Asa Yanick; his 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Faye and a host of other relatives and friends.
